Step 1: Fly to Padang, Indonesia
The closest airport to the Mentawai Islands is Minangkabau International Airport (PDG) in Padang. You can fly in from:
- Jakarta (CGK) with Garuda, Citilink, Pelita Air, Super air jet & Lion air
- Kuala Lumpur (KUL) with AirAsia & Super air jet
- Singapore (SIN) with Scoot Airlines
We recommend arriving in Padang at least one day before to avoid missing your ferry!
Step 2: Fast Ferry to the Mentawai Islands (Tua Pejat)
The Mentawai Fast Ferry departs from Padang to Tua Pejat on the following schedule:
- Monday, Wednesday, Friday at 7:00 AM
- Sunday at 10:00 AM
The trip takes about 3.5 hours
We recommend arriving in Padang at least one day before to avoid missing your ferry!
Step 3: Transfer to Villa Mentawai
When you arrive in Tua Pejat, a member of our team will meet you at the dock and take you on a short 5-minute speedboat ride straight to the villa.
You’re welcome to arrange your own transport to Tua Pejat, or you can choose our Transfer Package and let us handle everything.
Villa Mentawai Transfer Package
1. Arrival in Padang
We’ll pick you up from Padang Airport and drop you off at your hotel for an overnight stay.
Note: Accommodation in Padang isn’t included, so you’re free to choose the hotel you prefer.
2. Ferry to Mentawai
The next morning, we’ll collect you from your hotel and take you to the port. Ferry tickets are included in the package.
The ferry ride takes around 3.5 hours.
Baggage allowance is 15 kg
The surfer transfer package includes an additional surfboard bag up to 25 kg

3. Arrival in Tua Pejat
We’ll be waiting for you when you dock and bring you directly to the villa via private speedboat.
4. Return Journey
When your trip wraps up, we’ll coordinate everything for a smooth return and make sure you’re back in Padang with time to spare.
Important:
The return ferry from Tua Pejat leaves every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 3:00 PM, arriving in Padang around 6:30 PM. Because of this, same-day outbound flights from Padang are not recommended.

Why do I need to arrive in Padang a day early?
The Mentawai Fast Ferry departs early in the morning (7 AM), but most flights into Padang arrive later in the day. To avoid missing the ferry, it’s best to arrive the day before.
Do I need to stay in Padang on the way back too?
Yes. The return ferry gets into Padang around 6:30 PM, which is too late to catch a same-day flight. We recommend spending one night in Padang before flying out the next day.
Is there a way to skip overnight stays in Padang?
Yes. You can book a private speedboat directly from Padang to Villa Mentawai. It's perfect for groups or those with flexible schedules.
